Make an Energy Comeback by Staying Motivated
There are lots of reasons our energy starts to wane as we go about our hectic daily lives. They can be physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual. Often, we start to lag when our general motivation is fizzling out. At times like these, it’s important to take stock of where we are and get our heads clear and focused again. Because mentally speaking, staying motivated is one of the best ways to stay energized.
These simple steps help you re-energize when you just need a boost to your motivation.
Stay Motivated by Refocusing on Your Goals
Nothing motivates and energizes you quite like goals that lead to genuine fulfillment. When you’re constantly thinking, “Man, I can’t wait until…,” you’re constantly driven. But we sometimes lose sight of our goals amid the craziness of our daily lives. Stop to remind yourself what you’re after and look at what you’re doing to achieve it. And don’t forget to set smaller, short-term milestones and goals you can reach along the way. Reaching them will always provide bursts of energy and increased motivation.
Stay Energized by Taking Time to Enjoy Yourself
You have to step back occasionally to get your energy back. The grind can really wear you down. Sometimes, an hour off will do the trick, but sometimes you need a day, a weekend, or a little longer. Leave work aside and do something relaxing or fun that rejuvenates you. For me, nothing does the trick quite like going to a baseball game. I’m a big Detroit Tigers fan, and I love going to Lakeland to catch spring training or rookie team games. It recharges me because it’s something I’m passionate about.Take a breather and you’ll find yourself ready to get back into the swing of things.
Stay Motivated by Creating Balance and Routines
Sometimes, we’re doing everything right; we’re exercising, we’re eating healthy organic foods, we’re drinking plenty of water, we’re meditating… we’re doing all those things we know we’re supposed to do. That’s good, but if it comes with chaos, if we’re struggling to get it all in, if there’s no synchronicity and flow to what we’re doing, all the good things don’t necessarily add up to feeling motivated and energized. Take time to construct a routine so that everything flows and you stay in harmony.
Stay Energized by Getting Busy
When your motivation drops off and you start to move at a slower pace and some of your activity drops off, it feeds a cycle of reduced energy. The less you do, the less you feel like doing. When you’re at this point, the only way to get your energy back is to force yourself to get back to work, get back to your exercise, get moving again, get busy again. Sitting around on your couch, doing nothing and just waiting for your energy to come back isn’t definitely not going to make it happen.
